Marquette's camo-inspired uniforms for the Carrier Classic

  • Print

The Marquette Golden Eagles will open the 2012-2013 season on Friday against #4 ranked Ohio State. The game, dubbed as the Carrier Classic, will be played aboard the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier off the coast of Charleston, SC.

The carrier will be transformed into a 4,000 seat basketball arena. Both the Golden Eagles and Buckeyes will show support for veterans by wearing camo-inspired uniforms. Below is a picture of what the MU duds will looks like.

Across the country, off the coast of San Diego, #9 Syracuse will play San Diego state aboard the USS Midway. The game was supposed to be played on Friday, but due to the threat of rain and high winds, the game has been rescheduled for Sunday.

I'd have to look back, but I don't ever recall a college basketball game being postponed due to the threat of inclement weather....certainly not because of forecasted rain.
