Paul Ryan visits Cleveland Browns practice, mistakes Colt McCoy for Brandon Weeden
Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Paul Ryan has become the latest in a long line of politicians who have screwed up when addressing or referring to professional athletes.
(Remember when Senator Ted Kennedy referred to Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa as Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser?)
The Wisconsin congressman made a visit to the Cleveland Browns practice facility on Wednesday. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Ryan, while speaking to players, started praising Browns starting quarterback Brandon Weeden. Ryan continued to discuss how he used to watch Weeden play for Oklahoma State.
The problem is that Ryan was pointing to and staring directly at backup quarterback Colt McCoy. McCoy not only lost his starting job to Weeden this summer, but he also starred for Texas, one of Oklahoma State's biggest rivals.
