NFL looking for replacement officials

  • Print

Might the NFL be heading toward another lockout?

Not with the players, but with the officials. Apparently the league and officials are at an impasse with contract negotiations, and, according to a FOXsports.com report, the NFL's scouting staff has been directed to start looking for replacement officials.

For what its worth, officials are not considered full-time employees, but they pull in between $70,000-140,000 per season. The last time replacement officials were used was the opening week of the 2001 season.
