Earlier this season, 49-year-old Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jamie Moyer became the oldest pitcher to ever win a major league baseball game.
Moyer, a left-handed off-speed artist has yet to throw a fastball in excess of 78 MPH. That fact prompted the Minnesota Twins single-A minor league affiliate to launch a creative promotion.
Fans who could throw a baseball harder than Moyer's 78 MPH "heater" would receive a free ticket to an upcoming Fort Meyers Miracles game.
