It seems like every year, championship rings in professional sports aim to out-do the previous years model. The collection of diamonds is greater, as is the overall weight and size. I've seen rings that swallow knuckles!
I must say, though I wasn't happy to see them win it, the St. Louis Cardinals World Series ring is stunning and doesn't appear as gaudy as others I've seen.
A nice collection of rubies, diamonds, white gold and humor make up the hardware. Humor? Yes - I have to give the Cardinals, and the ring designers credit for incorporating the "rally squirrel" into the ring.
