Monta Ellis reaction to trade

  • Print

The Andrew Bogut era in Milwaukee is over.

The Bucks have traded Bogut and forward Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh, and Kwame Brown.

Ellis is the Marquee player coming to Milwaukee. As a 6'3" guard, Ellis is averaging 21.9 points per game and 6 assists. The 26-year-old also carries a large, but not crippling salary. He's signed for two more seasons at $11 million per.

After finding out about the trade, Ellis spoke with reporters before the Warriors game last night - a game which Ellis and Udoh did not play in.

In regards to the other players coming to Milwaukee. Udoh is averaging 5.5 points and 4 rebounds per game as a 6'10" power forward. He was the 6th overall pick out of Baylor in the 2010 draft - he's raw offensively but is a strong defender.

7-foot center Kwame Brown may never play for the Bucks. He's likely out the rest of the year with a chest injury and has a $7 million contract that expires at seasons end.

Oddly enough -- the Bucks will host the Warriors on Friday night.
