The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) -- the premier Division III athletic conference in the country -- has announced the members of its inaugural Hall of Fame class. Headlining the 30-member class are former UW-Stevens Point basketball standout, Terry Porter; and long-time UW-Platteville head basketball coach, Bo Ryan.

Porter earned conference player of the year honors in 1984 and 1985 was selected 24th overall by the Portland Trailblazers in the 1985 NBA draft.  In 2012, he was named to the WIAC Men’s Basketball All-Time Team in conjunction with the conference’s Centennial Celebration and the NAIA 75th Anniversary All-Star Team.

Ryan, now the head coach at the University of Wisconsin, lead UW-Platteville to four NCAA Division III national titles from 1985-1999. In 2012, Ryan was selected the WIAC Men’s Basketball All-Time Co-Coach in conjunction with the conference’s Centennial Celebration.

The WIAC Hall of Fame has been developed to coincide with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the conference which will take place during the 2012-13 academic year.

The 30-member class will be inducted as part of the WIAC Centennial Celebration Banquet to be held on August 4, 2012, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI
