The Marquette Golden Eagles steady rise in the top 25 college basketball polls has gone under-the-radar.
With a pair of games remaining in the regular season, the Golden Eagles (13-3 in conference play, 24-5 overall) check in 8th in the latest AP top 25, and 7th in the latest coaches poll. They will likely finish in 2nd place in the Big East Conference and are staring at a seed as high as 2 for the NCAA tournament.
But this team, for all its success, has been overlooked - until now. At this time of the season, its impossible to ignore the teams riding high into the post-season, ere's just too much analysis of the tournament field-to-be to ignore.
Case in point: Sports Illustrated's Seth Davis wrote a nice column on the Golden Eagles rise to prominence.
