I love this article from the USA Today. In the age of major conference realignment fueled by dollar signs, the WIAC, the premier division 3 athletic conference in the nation, will celebrate its 100th year next year. The USA Today article highlights this fact, while showcasing the incredible resume the conference has built over the years in regards to national championships won.
Many are familiar with the incredible run UW-Whitewater has had in football. Their three national championships is truly remarkable. But did you know that UW-Lacrosse has won 27 national championships in indoor and outdoor track and field?
It's rare that a year goes by without a team from the WIAC claiming a national title. As a former track and field athlete at UW-Oshkosh, and three-time All-American, I can proudly echo the sentiment of the article.
