There are no typos in the title of this blog entry. Logan Schafer is an outfielder for the Brewers triple-A affiliate, Nashville Sounds, who started a triple-play when a ball hit his direction glanced off his head.
In the bottom of the third inning with runners on first and second, Schafer broke forward instead of back on a ball hit to center field.
Schafer got just enough of his glove on the ball to keep it in the air. The ball bounced off his head, and he managed to catch it with his glove. With the play still live and Omaha's baserunners not sure what the heck just happened, Schafer made a quick throw to second baseman Eric Farris who relayed first baseman Mat Gamel to complete the triple play.
My favorite part of the video is Gamel's reaction to the play.
