The way things have been going, this blog will be out of date by 9:00am, but there is new news.
What we do know: The NFL players executive committee will meet today and it is hopeful they will vote on the deal cast forth by the owners last week.
If the committee approves the deal, it will then go in front of player representatives for each team (likely via conference call) for another round of voting. If the player reps approve the deal, it will then go in front of each of the 10 plaintiffs named in the anti-trust case (Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Vincent Jackson etc.).
What's New: An e-mail sent by Saints QB Drew Brees to his Saints teammates was obtained by Pro Football Talk. The e-mail outlines a timeline for getting the season up and running. It also indicates the free agency period would start on July 26th. Keep in mind that this entire situation is fluid, and that dates/times could change.
