Prince to the Cubs?

  • Print

It's no surprise that with the Brewers facing the Cubs in Chicago, and the Cubs in desperate need of some off-season re-tooling, the Chicago media has jumped on the chance to take Prince Fielder's temperature in regards to free agency.

In an article written in the Chicago Sun Times, Fielder handled free agency questions honestly, and was adamant about focusing his attention on helping the Brewers win. Keep in mind that this is Prince responding to a series of questions, not Prince initiating discussion with the Chicago media.

Nonetheless, for some, Fielder's comments may add more evidence against him returning as a member of the Brewers next season.

Fielder and the Brewers agreed on a one-year, $15.5 million dollar contract in January when long-term contract discussions broke down. He, along with Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, will be the marquee names on the free agent list come seasons end.
