Bucks assistant Sampson to the Pistons?

The Associated Press is reporting that Milwaukee Bucks Assistant Coach, Kelvin Sampson has been granted permission by the Bucks to interview with the Detroit Pistons for their vacant head coaching job.

Sampson has been Scott Skiles assistant with the Bucks since 2008. Previous to the Bucks, Sampson was the Head Coach at Indiana University from 2006-2008, the University of Oklahoma from 1994-2006, and also served as Head Coach at Washington State and Montana Tech.

Sampson was named AP national coach of the year in 1995. 

The Pistons head job was previously held by John Kuester, who was relieved of his duties on June 5th.
