Tragedy put St. Anna, Wisconsin on the map Tuesday night when an explosion at Bremer Manufacturing killed a fireman and left several others hurt including one who is in critical condition, at last word.
St. Anna (or is it pronounced "St. Ann", as I've heard?) was best known before this for it's traditional Wisconsin supper club--a place I visited several times with my Sheboygan area relatives over the years. I remember huge crowds, great food, and a no-reservations policy that meant you'd spend a goodly amount of time priming your appetite at the bar. I mentioned the place on the air during the course of our coverage of the tragedy Wednesday morning, but it's name escaped me. I hit the Googles after the show, and found out that the supper club got some decent regional pub not too long ago, courtesy of Iowa Public Television.
