The Cold Filtered Ramblings of Gene Mueller

Newtown, seen through the eyes of the first folks to get there

  • Print

Life moves fast.

The news cycle is a blur.

Stories get compartmentalized.  Details become hazy.  Sadly, we forget even the most shocking, horrifying events.

The New York Times has a story Tuesday morning about the first responders at Newtown, Connecticut,  some of them speaking for the very first time about what they encountered.  Some of it is as sad, awful and tragic as you'd expect. Other details are testaments to the human spirit--we already know what heroes the teachers were that day and this  will only reinforce that.
