The Cold Filtered Ramblings of Gene Mueller

Everything you ever wanted to know about the NFL Network's "RedZone"

So very glad Time Warner Cable finally added the NFL Network to its bill of fare.

And really happy it comes with the RedZone side car.

For the uninitiated, RedZone is a slice of NFL heaven, dipping seamlessly between ongoing games as a team comes close to scoring (hence the name).   From east coast to west, from noon until seven p.m., all you see is football.

Even though RedZone has been on cable all season, my first taste of it came Sunday--the Packers weren't playing the Giants until that night, and I couldn't stand watching the Bears/Vikings.   I light went on, a remote was grabbed, and an addiction was born.

I was so excited that my joy oozed from my fingers onto my cell phone keyboard where I Tweeted and Facebooked about my newfound happiness, which brought me this e-mail from Mike who included a "Grantland" story that tells more than you'll ever need to know about RedZone, its host and...his bladder habits.
