Be brave and shave! A chance to help a little girl AND set a new world record
One last reminder about "Shavin' For Haven" Sunday the 21st at the Brookfield Soccer Complex. Razors get sparked at 2 p.m.
I blogged about Haven Anderson earlier this week--she's a two year old girl (her mom is from here but the family now lives in Denver) with neuroblastoma. Bills are piling up, as you can well imagine. Mom's friends from her Whitnall High School days put together "Shavin' For Haven" as a fun way to raise funds and, perhaps, bust the world record for most heads shaved in an hour.
Yes, such a mark exists. Guinness says it's 318. "Shavin'" organizers are gunning for 400.
If you're already convinced that this is a cause worth shedding a few follicles for, go here and sign up. If you need more convincing, the Catholic Herald did a piece on Haven's struggle.
Good people engaged in a great cause. Sure, I know, it's up against the Packers game but that's why God made DVR's. It's also why he lets hair grow back.
Here's hoping for a new world record Sunday. And, here's knowing that our community takes care of each other.
