  • "Sic Semper Tyrannis"

Walker Derangement Syndrome hits a new low as union thugs shout down Scott Walker at Thursday's state fair... and at least one thug shouted " 'Sic semper tyrannis," the Latin phrase meaning "thus always to tyrants." It was the phrase attributed to Brutus during the assassination of Julius Caesar and was later shouted by John Wilkes Booth while assassinating President Abraham Lincoln. Check out the video:

  • Investigators Uninterested in Pursuing Illegal Electioneering?

MacIver suggests that Milwaukee prosecutors may be dragging their feet.. (We'll see today.)

  • Obama's Big Drags

Good read: a brutal analysis of the president's political problems from Politico.

  • "Bare-knuckled Class Warfare"

Liberal blogger Greg Sargent is onto something here. The peculiar quality of the Democrat/Union campaign in Wisconsin is the lack of even the hint of a positive agenda; the recall campaigns carry not a whiff of moderation or centrism. Reflecting the fact that they are bankrolled by union bosses, Democrats are waging unabashed class warfare -- Us vs. Them: the Makers vs. the takers. If next Tuesday's recalls succeed, national Democrats are likely to be heavily influenced by the outcome going into 2012.

  • Jobs Now Doubles Down On Voter Bribery

..and according to the DailyKos, critics (including this "gabberjab") are not just trying to "suppress" votes... they are also "racist.' Of course. Note also the endorsement of illegal vote buying by at least one elected official.

  • The Pasch Emails

The emails, release under the Open Records law to Media Trackers, cast serious doubt on Sandy Pasch's denial of coordination between her office/campaign and the left-wing front group Citizen Action.

  • A Busy 6 Months

Do we really want to go back? Senator Glenn Grothman compiles a useful list of the accomplishments of the governor and GOP legislature so far this year. The list comes to an abrupt end if the Dems flip the senate next week.

  • Paul Ryan: Where's Your Budget, Mr. President?

Congressman Paul Ryan thinks it's time for the president to step up and do his job. From today's Wall Street Journal:

  • Gwen Moore Suppresses Her Own Vote

...and disenfranchises all of her constituents because she just couldn't get herself to the House floor on time to vote on the debt ceiling deal. (This is especially ironic given Moore's longstanding penchant for theatrics on the issue of voter suppression, etc.) Her spokesman says she intended to vote yes, but is he lying? Listener Bruce has a number of observations:

  • Dailykos: I'm Suppressing Votes

Actually, I kind of like this: the left-wing web site declares me one of the "suppressors," colorfully identifying me as "Charlie Sykes, local rightwing radio gabberjab." (I may adopt that.) The site says that I am "scandal mongering" the story over Ribs for Votes story and "insinuating 'vote bribery.'" Insinunating my a**. If it walks like a duck.... Enjoy the weird paranoid twists of this post:

  • New Low in the Politics of Personal Destruction

A clear sign that Senator Randy Hopper is doing well... the sleaziest of the sleazy left wing smear groups has launched a campaign of personal destruction. And they are being called out by a the normal;y liberal Oshkosh Northwestern for going too far.

  • The Diminished President

Russ Douhat says that by all normal measures, the president should have been the winner of the debt ceiling debate. Instead he emerges as a shrunken figure.

  • Inside Report on the Jobs Now Electioneering

Media Trackers commits a flagrant act of journalism... with this first hand report on the Jobs Now (Ribs for Votes) shuttle busses to City Hall.

  • Ribs for Votes Raises Legal Questions

MacIver finds some interesting connections in the story of Ribs for Votes: the effort by a group called "Jobs Now" to turn out anti-Alberta Darling votes by giving away free BBQ ribs and other goodies.

  • FREE BBQ Ribs for Voting...

Remember smokes for votes? Liberal group ups the ante with free BBQ Ribs for early voting.

  • Debt Ceiling Winners and Losers

As the details emerge, this may be subject to revision, but the Washington Post's Chris Cilliza has some interesting first impressions.

  • Dumb and Dumber

  • Shame

Via MacIver: First, opponents of Governor Walker disrupted a ceremony honoring the Special Olympics. Now, on Thursday, AFSCME and other liberal protesters picketed Opportunities Inc., a business that makes a point of hiring people with special needs.

  • The Great Divide

Interesting that the Tea Party is getting the blame for the looming gridlock but as of last night every Democrat in both the House and Senate is on record opposed to the debt plan advanced by Speaker Boehner. Obama has no plan at all. Charles Krauthammer makes one final case for the Boehner plan.

  • UPDATE: The Bizarre Anti-Darling Campaign

UPDATE: State Rep. Sandy Pasch is listed as a member of the Board of Directors of Citizens Action, the group that held this demonstration and has been spending big bucks on Pasch's behalf. BTW: it is illegal for third party groups to 'coordinate" their activities with candidates.
