Milwaukee County's top election law prosecutor Monday publicly reiterated and defended his claims that Milwaukee police didn't investigate most voter fraud allegations for months after the November 2008 election.
Assistant District Attorney Bruce Landgraf said he referred 96 fraud cases to Milwaukee police between December 2008 and January 2009. He said his review of police reports found "no substantial investigation" of all but four cases for the first six months of 2009....
Flynn also revealed for the first time that he personally ordered then-Detective Mike Sandvick to stay away from the polls on Election Day 2008, because Sandvick was primarily responsible for a police report that recommended voters show photo identification to prevent vote fraud. The chief said he acted to preserve the department's image of political objectivity and wasn't trying to punish Sandvick, whom he praised as a distinguished and respected officer.

Walker reacts:
Wauwatosa – Scott Walker, Milwaukee County executive and candidate for governor, today called on Mayor Tom Barrett to jumpstart investigations into voter fraud in Milwaukee, after reports that the Milwaukee Election Commission and the Milwaukee Police Department have been delaying and ignoring reports of election fraud. He also called on the Mayor to join him in advocating the requirement of showing photo ID when voting.
“I’d like to know what Mayor Barrett and his cronies are trying to hide by delaying these investigations,” said Walker. “It’s unacceptable that in almost two years the Milwaukee police have only investigated four of the 96 claims of voter fraud – what’s the hold up? And why hasn’t the Mayor jumpstarted investigations into what’s happening in his own backyard?”
Walker continued, “Voter fraud and other Chicago style politics should have no place in the upcoming elections here in Wisconsin. I urge Mayor Barrett to join me in supporting voter ID proposals because the people of Wisconsin deserve to have a their votes counted equally as part of a smooth and lawful election.”
