Maybe they hear footsteps. Byron York on why the Dems took a break from wrecking healthcare to talk about jobs.

There’s a reason Barack Obama squeezed a hastily-arranged "Jobs Summit" into a White House schedule dominated by national health care and Afghanistan.  You can find it on every page of "The Economy and Politics of 2010," a new survey of voter attitudes circulating among Democrats that, despite its dry title, betrays a sense of dread and horror among party strategists hoping to avoid defeat in next year's mid-term elections.

  1. I read this stuff and just wonder - "What would Reagan do"? Yea, he would hold a summit to make people FEEL good. Nope, Reagan would know what to do. When will we again elect a President that has a foundation of knowledge to pull off of? Oh well, we had to have a carter to get a Reagan. Hopefully we have someone coming soon to replace this Carter!
  2. They may as well not waste their time panicking because I do not believe there is anything they can do to keep their jobs except hold a gun to our heads.
  3. Reagan also held a jobs summit that actually created jobs. It was called the 1980's.
  4. Don't rule out that possibility!
