Jeff Jacoby pens one of the best pieces I've seen so far on the narcissism of The One.

PRESIDENT OBAMA was too busy to attend the celebrations in Germany this week marking the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago. But he did appear by video, delivering a few brief and bloodless remarks about how the wall was "a painful barrier between family and friends" that symbolized "a system that denied people the freedoms that should be the right of every human being." He referred to "tyranny," but never identified the tyrants -- he never uttered the words "Soviet Union" or "communism," for example. He said nothing about the men and women who died trying to cross the wall. Nor did he mention Harry Truman or Ronald Reagan -- or even Mikhail Gorbachev.

He did, however, talk about Barack Obama....

  1. Obama is that rare and highly dangerous mix of ego and stupidity. Not only is he in way over his head, his ego refuses to let himself admit it. So, against all advice he forges ahead convinced that he is right and everyone else is wrong. He bows when he shouldn't. He fails to show up when he should. He orders his AG to try KSM in NYC. He saddles us with huge debt during an economic downturn. He doesn't have the brains to admit what he doesn't know.
  2. At least he isn't the crook Bush. I will only not vote for Obama again because he didn't hold The Cheney Admin accountable.
  3. No he is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse.
  4. It hasn't, by a long shot, turned out to be the most open and ethical administration in history. But it sure has come through as the most arrogant and egotistical.
