Charlie Sykes's 27 Predictions for 2014
As the New Year begins in the grip of an arctic chill, I thought that our readers might like some upbeat predictions for the year ahead. Instead, I came up with these:
New York’s leftist mayor Bill de Blasio will become a household name. And not in a good way.
Politifact will become so confused by its own shifting, convoluted, and tortured standards of fact-checking that it will give itself a "Pants on Fire" rating.
Some grownups in the state Democrat Party will begin to openly wonder who thought it was a good idea to keep Chairman Mike Tatearound.
Dom Capers will be fired.
Gwen Moore will continue to beclown herself on national television. She will, however, continue to get kid-glove treatment from the local media.
Democrats will try to make the 2014 election about the minimum wage, income inequality, extending unemployment benefits, and abortion. It will instead be about Obamacare; and it will be ugly.
