Mary Burke: Public Schools an Example of Where Government Can Do Better Than Families and Individuals
The more we learn about Madison multi-millionaire candidate for Governor Mary Burke, the less there is to like.
First, it was her promise to make no promises.
Now, we learn that not only does Burke oppose the expansion of educational choices for children and parents in failing schools, she actually thinks that government does a better job of educating children than individuals and families.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal:
Burke spoke at length about her views on education, citing public schools as a primary example of what the role of government should be.
"If each individual family had to take on the role of educating their children, that would be much more difficult," Burke said. "That’s the role of government, where it can do things better as an organization than individuals can do on their own."
