Unlikely this will catch on in any big way.. But it's still entertaining. Lefty blogs begin campaign for crossover vote.

Effort Begun to Swing Close GOP Gov Race to Mark Neumann

With a divided Wisconsin GOP still dominated by the religious right, an effort is under way by progressives to take advantage of the lack of significant Democratic primaries [the Madison 78th assembly race being an exception] to make Mark Neumann the GOP nominee for governor.

So, look for a significant turn-out of Democratic and progressive voters casting their lot with Mark Neumann next Tuesday.

Mark Neumann has a profoundly, if earnestly held, anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic and anti-gay worldview that would make Neumann a weak general election gubernatorial candidate.

Call it what you will but a close race could very easily be swung to Neumann with a little help from his Democratic and Progressive friends.

Neumann gets some love here too.

  1. I hope they weren't hoping for a significant turnout on their version of Operation Chaos in Milwaukee. Seems the Milwaukee Dems value purity too much in both the Sheriff's office and the 7th Senate seat.

Speaking of Milwaukee, I wonder how the Madison and outstate Dems will feel about an all-Milwaukee ticket about the middle of October, even if they manage to push Neumann over the top.
  2. There was some guy in the Fox Valley spousing the same thing on a blog. I commented that if he had any ethics or morals you vote in the primary for the same person you would like to win the general election. It's the downside of Rush's Operation Chaos but what goes around comes around.
  3. The Republicans tried this same trick in the 2008 Presidential primary. Short term memory Charlie?
  4. It won't work; Walker is going to win and if Neumann does eke out a victory, he's going to beat Barrett. Funny how the anti-religious left suddenly expresses concern over anti-Catholicism.
