Before joining WTMJ, Derrell Connor has spent the last seven years hosting a weekly radio show in Madison. In addition, Derrell also writes columns for Madison Magazine, and Channel 3000.com. He is currently a member of the Association of Opinion Journalists, has served on the Urban League of Greater Madison’s Board of Directors for nine years, including three years as chair, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce’s Minority Business Advisory Council, and spent ten years as a volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County. Derrell also enjoys spending time with family, writing, basketball, golf, movies, watching and attending sporting events. Derrell Connor grew up in Philadelphia, P.A., moved to the Bay Area and attended San Francisco State University. He arrived in Wisconsin in 1991 after meeting his wife Laura in California several years before. They have three children.
