Why is he "The Freak"? It was a nickname Greg earned in college due to his athletic prowess. When it comes to playing sports, Greg has "been there" and "done that" at a high level. He can slam-dunk a basketball, is a 7-handicap on the golf course, was a three-time track and field All-American in college, has played basketball for the Washington Generals, goalie for the Milwaukee Wave, 15 years of competitive baseball, and even had an arena football league tryout despite only playing two years of organized football.
Greg has been a member of the WTMJ family since 2001. Not only is he the Sports Anchor for Wisconsin's Morning News and Co-Host of "Sports Central", he also serves as the Co-Host for the Green Bay Packers official post-game show on the Packers Radio Network, and a TV Sports Anchor on Today's TMJ4. In addition, Greg is a National Correspondant for Pro Footbal Weekly, and can be spotted on the jumbotron at Lambeau Field giving updates during halftime of Packers home games.
Greg is also a reality TV star, having been the first Wisconsin native to appear on, and win a reality TV show. Greg was a winning cast member of ESPN’s “Beg, Borrow and Deal 2“ (http://espn.go.com/eoe/bbd2/) TV series in 2004.
Having grown up in Brookfield, WI, Greg graduated from UW-Oshkosh where he competed in Track and Field, and was named conference Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2000. When not at work, you can find Greg playing golf, running, traveling, watching college hoops, trying to conquer a house project that's waaay over his head, or enjoying a cold beer at an outdoor establishment.
Greg also happens to be a dead-ringer for U.S. Soccer Goalie, Tim Howard.Check it out!
